Synopsis

Mr Dollah’s two sons, Aman and Hussein, could not be more different. The studious Hussein is favoured by his father, while Aman is frequently mistreated and seeks refuge at Mr Yaakob’s village boxing school, where he begins training as a boxer. Hussein falls in love with the well-to-do Farida. To conceal his humble background, he uses his father’s money to buy her expensive gifts instead of using it to further his studies. Hussein’s web of lies unravel when Mr Dollah learns of his engagement to Farida in the local newspaper. As the extent of Hussein’s betrayal comes to light, Aman makes amends for his brother’s wrongdoings and, in doing so, earns his father’s respect.

Darah-ku was one of several films produced by Maria Menado Productions, the company founded by Menado, in association with Cathay-Keris.
