A new independent bookshop has quietly opened its doors, and it's every bit as cosy as you'd hope. Meet Twotwobookshop, tucked away along Serangoon Road. Photograph: Time Out Singapore Twotwobookshop Take off your shoes before entering. Housed within half of an office unit, Twotwobookshop is snug in the best way possible. It feels less like a bookstore and more like being invited into someone's personal walk-in bookshelf, where every title has been thoughtfully chosen. Its intimate size and soft lighting create a calm, unhurried atmosphere, where you’ll be able to slow down and leaf through the books at your own pace. POP MART store & POP BAKERY at Resorts World Sentosa Those who’ve been keeping an eye on WEAVE at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) would have noticed the POP BAKERY hoarding that’s had POP MART fans guessing what was in store for months. Well, the wait is finally over – the highly anticipated concept has officially opened on 30th July 2026 . We popped by to check out the new POP MART store and bakery – here’s everything you need to know, including what’s available, their prices, and highlights to look out for before visiting. What’s a POP BAKERY? The concept first originated from POP LAND, POP MART’s theme park in Beijing , where beloved characters are turned into desserts and drinks. Singapore is home to Southeast Asia’s 1st POP BAKERY, and the outlet at RWS is centred around Twinkle Twinkle , the adorable and rosy-cheeked star characters that have had fans in a chokehold. Although Twinkle Twinkle is the main attraction here, you’ll still spot other IPs like LABUBU, DIMOO, MOLLY, and PUCKY in dessert versions. Expect a menu of Twinkle Twinkle-themed treats with local-inspired flavours, exclusive merchandise and collectibles , plus meet-and-greet sessions with the characters. BTW, the 2-storey space houses both a POP MART retail store on Level 1 and the bakery on Level 2 under one roof, so after adding yet another blind box to your collection, it’s easy to swing by for some sweet treats. What do I need to know before visiting? Photo opportunities even before stepping in But before you even get to the treats inside, you’ll want to set aside some time for photos outside. Surrounding the 2-storey “villa”, as RWS calls it, are plenty of photo spots featuring some of POP MART’s most recognisable IPs. The building itself is already a photo-worthy sight, with a giant MOKOKO figure perched on top to welcome visitors as they approach. Take a stroll around the villa, and you’ll discover more character-themed spots, including a Twinkle Twinkle installation, where the cutie is standing on a ship and looking like it’s ready to make all your wishes come true. There’s also a POP MART logo display with SKULLPANDA and DIMOO standing proudly on either side. Over at the side of the villa, you’ll find MOLLY surrounded by lush greenery, while another entrance/exit features Hirono waiting to welcome guests as they arrive or bid goodbye. With so many characters making an appearance, you might want to do a full walk around before heading in lest you miss any of the photo spots. What to expect at POP BAKERY? Located on the 2nd level of the store, POP BAKERY was the 1st thing we checked out during our visit. After all, it’s making its debut in Singapore, while POP MART already has a handful of retail outlets across the island, so the collectibles could wait. Turns out, we weren’t the only ones with that game plan. The crowd seemed to have made a beeline for the bakery too, so if you’re planning a visit, it might be worth keeping an eye out for where everyone is heading before deciding your route. This will hopefully help you to avoid too much elbow-rubbing with strangers. MOLLY & SKULLPANDA installations The moment you head up to the 2nd floor and step into POP BAKERY, you’ll be greeted by a MOLLY BAKERY photo spot on your left. The life-sized MOLLY figure, complete with an oversized croissant perched on its head, is too cute to miss. Friendly bakery staff were also stationed at the entrance to welcome us when we were there, making the whole experience feel extra warm and inviting. Further inside, look up, and you’ll spot a gigantic SKULLPANDA figure suspended from the ceiling. Surrounding it is a display of all the sweet treats on offer, giving you a chance to admire their intricate designs up close before deciding which ones deserve a spot in your tummy. Rainforest Wild Adventure, formerly known as Rainforest Wild Asia and Africa, has just opened its EAST section.   The wildlife park features 20 hectares of naturalistic habitats inspired by the rainforests of Asia and Africa – all as part of a single ticket at Rainforest Wild Adventure. There are two sections of Rainforest Wild Adventure – one at Mandai Wildlife WEST and another at Mandai Wildlife EAST. There are bus services provided (2-minute ride or a 20-minute walk) between the two sections and an entry ticket to the park allows for multiple entries before the 5 pm last admission timeslot. The park caters to all ages – from multi-generational families to energetic explorers and adventure-seekers – and it is all about the experiences. Overview of Rainforest Wild Adventure: Adventure and Wildlife   We had a first look at Rainforest Wild Adventure EAST on soft opening day, 20 May 2026, and here is our guide to both sections of the park.  Firstly, Rainforest Wild Adventure is home to 58 free-to-roam species. This could mean that more time is needed to “find” them. They could be seeking shade from the elements, resting or just out of sight.  Spot the animals by asking the rangers for help! If your intention is to see as many animals as possible within a short timeframe, we think it is best to visit the other wildlife parks such as Singapore Zoo, River Wonders, Night Safari or Bird Paradise. However, if you are in the “expedition” mindset and don’t mind taking a trek through nature and taking your time to look out for animals and want to have some adventure in the form of activities, then Rainforest Wild Adventure is for you. Secondly, Rainforest Wild Adventure is big on adventures since up to 5 (on weekends) or 9 Adventure+ experiences are included with admission (ticket promotion till end August). We would definitely recommend Rainforest Wild Adventure for families with older kids, teens and adrenaline-seekers.  Rainforest Wild Adventure combines adventure and wildlife, allowing visitors choose their own level of exploration. We found that many of the activities under Adventure+ manageable for most visitors. With the opening of the new phase, Rainforest Wild Adventure East, the park’s total number of Adventure+ activities to nine across both zones. Thrillseekers will want to gravitate towards the more intense, harnessed experiences under the Black Adventure label. Rainforest Wild Adventure EAST Spanning seven hectares, Rainforest Wild Adventure East is inspired by Afro-tropical and Madagascan landscapes. The four themed areas within Rainforest Wild Adventure East include Riverine Forest, Red Ravine, Lemur Land and Hidden Forest. There are five Adventure+ activities in the EAST Zone. Rather usefully, there is a board at the entrance of Rainforest Wild Adventure that shows the waiting times at each of the activities. You can also scan a QR code to book a timeslot for the Canopy Glider. There are five Forest Treks that visitors can enjoy. These include Otter Trek (65 metres), Horn & Hoof Trek (65 metres), Misty Trek (70 metres), Split Rock Trek (140 metres) and Okapi Trek (260 metres).  Most of these treks at Rainforest Wild Adventure EAST are quite short and doable, even for the young.  One way to get a sweeping overview of the park is to take the Canopy Glider. This is an Adventure+ experience that takes you over the park, where your view will be accompanied by some commentary. It is chance to spot the animals if they are hiding or somewhere in their habitat. Over at the Riverine Forest is where you can spot the crocodilian and the Indian Gharials, pygmy hippos and more. Animals at Rainforest Wild Adventure EAST There are four themed areas to see animals. However, do note that the animals are still getting accustomed to their new habitats and could get easily spooked. Be patient (and still) if you want to get a chance to get up close.  The Amaz

The 3,000-capacity entertainment venue will be known as Grange House, with an opening confirmed for mid-2027. Originally announced as part of Budget 2026 earlier this year, the venue sits on Grange Road next to Somerset MRT, filling what Live Nation describes as a gap between Singapore's smaller clubs and its large-scale arenas and stadiums. At 3,000 capacity, it's big enough for mid-tier international touring acts, yet small enough to feel like an intimate gig rather than a stadium event. That opens up a broader range of programming for Grange House, with the possibility of shows from independent local promoters alongside global acts. Grange House's design is handled by Live Nation's in-house Blueprint Studio, which has prioritised acoustics, sightlines to the stage, and artist facilities built to international touring standards. Indoor and outdoor spaces have also been designed for use beyond show nights, with a landscaped terrace, all-day café and restaurant that can host community talks and public events, and a foyer for pre- and post-show dining and gathering. The eco-town seems to have it all – new forested trails , a hawker centre with over 40 stalls , and even a hotel with loft rooms and Coney Island views all opening within a short span of time. Soon, the new Punggol Regional Sports Centre will be part of these offerings, giving the neighbourhood in the north-east even more cred than it has already built over the years. Photograph: Sport Singapore Opening within 2026, the massive integrated sports and recreation complex will be the first one on the island to have its own infinity pool – so you needn’t book a fancy staycation for those resort pool vibes. This will be one of five pools within Punggol Swimming Complex, which makes up just one zone of the venue. We hear that there’s a competition-sized swimming pool as well. Racquet sports enthusiasts will be thrilled to hear of the indoor sports hall housing 20 badminton courts, of which five can double up for pickleball. There are also tennis courts, a 5,000-seater stadium for soccer matches, and a futsal court for those who prefer to play footy on smooth flooring instead of grass. Other highlights that you typically wouldn’t expect to find in a neighbourhood sports facility: A water sports centre (kayaking or wakeboarding, hopefully?) and a dedicated archery training centre. The brief at Maggie's is 70s retro grandma-chic, and if that sounds slightly out-there and ludicrous, it's because it is. Picture the home of an eccentric Chinese grandmother who happens to have impeccable taste, a slight hoarding habit and a penchant for disco glam. Mismatched upholstery, glittering chandeliers, old TV sets and cheeky, nostalgic elements at every corner – they're all part of the mise-en-scène. Every table in the house, whether it's a cosy booth or a communal round table, gives you a full view of the restaurant's buzzing energy come peak dinner time. Maggie's new menu Photograph: Maggie's Maggie's Maggie's concept is best described as 'Almost Chinese', and you see it most in the menu, which gives a wildly creative, never-before-seen twist on familiar Chinese flavours. As the restaurant turns one this year, it's launching a refreshed food and cocktail programme, with the same experimental spirit, bold flavours and unique flavour combinations. Some signature dishes and drinks remain. The 'Golden Gun' cigars ($18 for two), a staple here, are a fun starter that'll have you and your dining companions feeling like noblemen in Republican-era Shanghai. The snack is generously stuffed with bigeye tuna, spring onions, creme fraiche and olive leaves, with a final dusting of tomato powder. The golden prawn Croque Madame ($25) and Maggie's Southern Dirty Rice ($35), mainstays from day one, also stay on the menu. Meanwhile, cocktails like Luscious Lucy ($24) – longan-infused Roku gin with red dates and Campari – and the Pei Pa Koa-spiked Cough Drop Connie ($24) are as popular as ever. The hits Photograph: Maggie's Maggie's Among the newer additions to the menu, the Stracciatella Chinois is an easy crowd-pleaser ($23), featuring a cheesy dip with smoked olive oil and a sweet-spicy black bean chilli relish. The already flavourful dip is paired with equally indulgent you tiao (dough fritters) sticks – greasy and crispy the way they should be. Also try the wagyu cheek marmalade ($26), an East-meets-West creation which sees a taro cake base topped with tender shreds of wagyu beef cheek, caramelised onions and cucumber slices pickled in black vinegar for a much-needed touch of acidity. Photograph: Maggie's Busty Betty, Haughty Harriet The joint also introduces two new pastas – Maggie's Hae Mee ($28) and the Mapo Conchiglie ($27). We like the former, which is a valiant rendition of Singapore's iconic prawn noodle dish. Al dentre strands of bucati pasta are coated in a seafood-rich sauce and topped with red prawn crudo, grilled maitake mushrooms, dried shrimp and chilli crumble, with a final squeeze of kaffir lime. Cocktails at Maggie's are light, approachable and highly crushable, with nine creations named after various 'aunty' characters – think Haughty Harriet, Salacious Sally and other irreverent equivalents. We like our picks of the Busty Betty ($23) and Mouthy Margaret ($23), the former a straightforward Gimlet-style pour with clear notes of melon, and the latter a spin on a spicy Margarita with notes of watermelon and mala. They are not quite craft cocktails, but decent enough for pairing with the dishes, which here lean slightly salty and heavy-handed in seasoning. The misses Photograph: Maggie's Ahma's sticky date pudding The Iberico pork chop ($48) arrives nicely caramelised and tender inside, the way a good char siew would be, with a suitable black garlic sauce on the side. But the accompanying watercress salad and cilantro yoghurt pull the dish in a more Mediterranean direction, yet not quite enough – resulting in a confusing melange of flavours. The sour tang of the yoghurt, in particular, clashes with the sweetness and fattiness of the pork. We are also not quite convinced by the reworked Ahma's stic

Photograph: Mingli for Time Out Singapore "Keeping the store everyday is just like playing Jenga," says May Lin, founder of Singapore's tiniest bookstore, Eliko. Looking around, I can see why – hundreds of titles are carefully stacked inside a cosy, roughly two-metre-by-two-metre space, snuggled between the long-standing vendors of Chinatown Complex. Photograph: Mingli for Time Out Singapore Inside Eliko's space It's hardly the sort of place where you'd expect to find a picture book store. Instead, the market is better known for its Chinese New Year decorations and miscellaneous household goods. Yet for May, there couldn't have been a more fitting home for Eliko. “I like markets, and I like how diverse they are,” she says. Eliko’s beginnings The idea for Eliko came about during the Covid-19 pandemic, when May's nephew was born. “At that time, the idea of new beginnings and childhood wonder came to mind. Prior to that, I liked picture books, but I didn't really have a collection,” she says. But what many don't know is that Chinatown Complex wasn't her first attempt at bringing the bookstore to life. “I thought, okay, let's begin something new, so I impulsively rented a space at Pearl's Hill Terrace,” she explains. “It took me about a year to get the books together, and then I got too scared to start. For years, I was paying rent, but we never opened,’ she adds. Photograph: Mingli for Time Out Singapore Eliko Finding Eliko its second home When the pandemic chapter came to an end, so did Eliko's first home. But the story wasn't over – May’s dream of owning a bookstore was still alive. During her search for a new location, she stumbled upon the charming units at Chinatown Complex. It was through a stroke of luck that she managed to claim one of her own. “I came here to recce the place, took a photo of the directory, and started planning out the airflow and everything. I really loved this unit. However, the way it works is that the tenants have the rights to renew, so if they don't let it go, there was no way I could rent it. Then in August two years ago, this unit finally opened up – it was really pure luck that I managed to secure the space,” she says, happily. Over here, it feels more grounded. I don't speak Mandarin too, so that's a bit difficult, but that makes life interesting. Her decision to set up shop in the old-school market was both a philosophical decision and a practical one. “It's very small here so the rent is affordable. It didn't feel so scary. Secondly, I wanted to be uncomfortable. Previously at Pearl's Hill Terrace, it was a wonderful arts hub, but the people who go there are a particular type. Over here, it feels more grounded. People People Brewing Co. calls Weave at Resorts World Sentosa home, opening earlier this April as a working beer brewery, social space and restaurant all in one.
