Sentosa Through the Years: From Battleground to Playground is a senior-friendly guided heritage bus tour that traces the remarkable transformation of Sentosa island across different historical periods.

Once known as Pulau Blakang Mati (“Behind Death Island in Malay), Sentosa was historically a small island located at the southern entrance to the Singapore harbour. Before the 1970s, the island played important roles in maritime trade routes, colonial coastal defence and wartime history before eventually transforming into one of Singapore’s most popular leisure destinations. Through guided storytelling and relevant site stops, participants will explore how Sentosa evolved from a strategic fortress island into a modern recreational destination. The programme highlights connections between maritime trade, harbour defence, wartime history and post-independence urban development, allowing participants to understand Sentosa within the broader context of Singapore’s national story.

This programme is created in collaboration with Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC).

PROGRAMME ITINERARY (4 hours): 10am - Coach bus pick-up with tour commentary on bus with tour guide 1030am to 1230pm - Guided bus tour with 3 stops 1230pm to 130pm - Lunch at Good Old Days 130pm to 2pm - Transport back to drop-off point with tour commentary on bus with tour guide

ROUTE: Enter Sentosa → Imbiah Lookout (stop 1) → Sentosa Cove (drive-through) → Fort Siloso (stop 2 )→ Siloso Beach & Lunch (stop 3) → Return
