About this event
This is an original Bharathanatyam dance production that shares the lived experience of dancer Priya Nair, portraying the emotional realities associated with maternal mental health, with a focus on postpartum depression. The production presents her personal journey through motherhood and the emotional challenges she faced following childbirth.
Through dance and abhinaya (expressive storytelling), live music, and scores including original compositions, the production seeks to raise awareness and reduce the cultural stigma surrounding postpartum depression.
The performance chronicles Priya Nair's journey of struggle, emotional turmoil, resilience, perseverance, and inner strength as she navigates the complexities of motherhood, ultimately moving towards healing, hope, and transformation.
