About it
Following the clues from the book Yunnan Garden, Then and Now: Revisiting the Story of Nantah, we will step into Yunnan Garden — a special place carrying the dual memories of Nanyang University and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). This event features two literary walks, each with a different focus: one takes you in search of Nanyang University's old buildings and surviving traces of the past, while the other leads you to explore NTU's new landmarks. Through walking and talking along the way, we hope to piece together, bit by bit, the trajectory of Yunnan Garden's transformation from past to present.
In this tour, we retrace the bygone days of Nanyang University, visiting the old sites that bear witness to the pioneers' passion for founding the university and the youthful memories of its students. This will be no superficial glance, but a true pause to look closely, listen attentively, touch with our own hands, and then let our imagination take flight. Following in the footsteps of Associate Professor Hee Wai Siam, participants will capture traces of time through their camera lenses and record the stories held within these spaces.
