About this event

Hawker centres, kopitiams, and small food stalls may serve similar dishes, but they each tell a different story. As Singapore’s hawker culture earns its place on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list, we take a closer look at what makes this food tradition so uniquely Singaporean.

This walking tour seeks to uncover the layers of history, innovation, and personal stories that have shaped our hawker landscape. We’ll explore different types of food spaces, from the bustling Golden Mile Food Centre to the lesser-known charm of North Bridge Road Market. We’ll also step into old-school coffee shops like Hup Seng Long, where time slows down over kaya toast and kopi, and end at Hill Street Tai Hwa, the only Michelin- starred hawker stall in Singapore.

Come hungry, come curious, and let’s celebrate the flavours and stories that keep this culture alive.
