About this event

Symphony of Chocolate Afternoon Tea Chocolate cake? Normal. Chocolate mousse? Expected. Chocolate… duck liver? That’s where The Lobby Lounge at Fraser House decided to throw the rulebook into the fondue pot. Their new Symphony of Chocolate Afternoon Tea doesn’t stop at loading desserts with cocoa. They’ve somehow found a way to sneak chocolate into savoury dishes too. Available from 16th August to 15th November 2026 , this limited-time afternoon tea is basically for anyone who has ever said “there’s no such thing as too much chocolate” and genuinely meant it. The menu features a foie gras parfait wrapped in milk chocolate and a wagyu beef cheek braised with dark chocolate. It sounds like one of those “trust me bro” food combinations, but surprisingly, it works. What is The Symphony of Chocolate Afternoon Tea? This is a collaboration between The Lobby Lounge at Fraser House and Chocolaterie de L’Opera , a French chocolatier that takes its cacao very seriously. Instead of using one generic chocolate throughout the menu, they’ve picked different couvertures, each with its own flavour profile, so some desserts taste fruity and bright while others lean rich enough to make you question whether you really need dinner afterwards. Behind the menu are Executive Pastry Chef Jason Goh and Dexter Lee, who won the Global Pastry World Cup in 2022 before going on to become the World Gelato Champion in 2026. Long story short, you’re in very capable hands. How much does the Symphony of Chocolate Afternoon Tea cost? Let’s rip the Band-Aid off first. Weekday sets cost $130 for 2 , while weekends and public holidays go for $140 . Additional diners are $65 and $70 respectively. Thankfully, that already includes coffee or TWG loose-leaf tea, because charging separately after serving 15 different chocolate creations would’ve felt mildly criminal. If you’re treating this as an excuse to catch up with your friends for three hours straight, you can also spike the afternoon a little with a Champagne add-on ($28) or opt for prosecco or the house cocktail ($20) . What is on the afternoon tea menu? The sweet fancies This is where chocolate gets to be the main character. The Jamaya 73% Travel Cake was probably my favourite of the lot. Imagine an ultra-rich chocolate mud cake meeting candied orange, then getting dressed in a glossy chocolate glaze. It’s basically the fancy cousin of those Terry’s Chocolate Oranges everyone fights over during Christmas. The Spinto 70% Dark Chocolate Mousse leans bittersweet, but the Morello cherries stop it from becoming overwhelmingly rich. If dark chocolate isn’t really your thing, the Tannea 43% Milk Chocolate Tart is much easier to love thanks to its silky cremeux filling and sweet apricot. Not everything is chocolate-on-chocolate either. The Bourbon Vanilla Panna Cotta arrives with mango and passionfruit, acting like the palate cleanser your taste buds silently thank you for halfway through. The Arcato Chocolate Hazelnut Choux deserves a shoutout too. Think crunchy craquelin shell, hazelnut praline cream and enough texture to stop everything from blending into one giant chocolate blur. Then comes the part everyone immediately gravitates towards anyway: the Chocolate Fondue Station. There’s just something deeply satisfying about stabbing strawberries and marshmallows onto skewers before dunking them into warm melted chocolate. Is it sophisticated? Sure. Did it also unlock the same excitement as using a chocolate fountain at a buffet when you were 10? Also yes. Just when you think you’ve peaked on sugar, a gelato and sorbet trolley starts making its rounds. At that point, saying “I’m full” feels more like a suggestion than a fact. The savoury surprises This is the part that will make your friends go “huh, chocolate in savoury food?” The Duck Foie Gras Parfait comes encased in a milk choco
