Explore the last remaining space for the Orang Pulau community to dock their sampans and practice their indigenous maritime crafts.
Sharing of Anecdotes and Tour – Discover the history and identity of the Orang Laut/Pulau community, their advocacy for cultural preservation, and the importance of supporting marginalised groups. Learning from Former Islanders – Learn about the sustainable practices of the Orang Laut/Pulau, theicommunity space at West Coast Park and the traditional Bubu traps. Jong Building Activity – Understand the cultural significance of the Jong, a traditional boat, and assemble a model. Tour of Heritage Garden – Explore native plants, enjoy games or edible plant tastings, and savour food prepared by community members.
