About this event

Introduction & Storytelling (15 mins) • Welcome participants and introduce the chosen hawker dish (Kaya Toast, Laksa, Fishball Noodles). • Share stories of the dish’s origins, evolution, and its role in Singapore’s culinary heritage.

Demonstration by Instructor (20 mins) • Live modelling of clay techniques to replicate food elements (e.g. shaping noodles, crafting toast details using clay, layering butter and kaya). • Explanation of how these artisanal methods reflect traditional handcrafting skills and patience.

Hands-On Crafting Session (70 mins) • Participants sculpt their own miniature hawker dish using clay. • Facilitators provide step-by-step guidance while engaging participants with anecdotes, oral histories, and cultural trivia.
