The evening ignites with Franz von Suppé's Light Cavalry Overture, a whirlwind of galloping rhythms and sunlit melodies, its exhilarating spark heralding the journey ahead.

Set against this brilliant opener is the world premiere of The Colour of Gravity for Saxophone and Orchestra by Singaporean composer Germaine Goh. A landscape of rich textures and expressive hues, this daring new work is written to showcase the vibrant artistry of saxophonist Samuel Phua — a musician of boundless energy and luminous talent, breathing life into every phrase.

The night culminates in Johannes Brahms' Symphony No. 1, a towering monument of the Romantic era, led by our Music Director Lester Kong. From its stormy birth to its triumphant finale, the symphony unfolds a world of sweeping passion, dramatic intensity, and hard-won glory — a grand arc from shadow to light.
