About this event

A Cup of Tea Through Time in Singapore is a 2-hour heritage storytelling and experiential workshop designed for children and families. The programme introduces participants to Singapore’s living heritage through tea, an everyday cultural practice brought by early Chinese immigrants and sustained across generations in Singapore.

The workshop situates tea not as a luxury or ceremonial object, but as part of daily life in early Singapore, where it was consumed at home, after work, and when welcoming guests. Through guided storytelling, sensory discovery, traditional demonstration, and creative expression, participants learn how tea culture reflects migration, family life, hospitality, and cultural continuity in Singapore.
