teamLab: Infinite Existence

Singapore is getting a little taste of teamLab before its big Gardens by the Bay debut . The Japanese digital art collective's first solo exhibition at Supper House, teamLab: Infinite Existence , happens from September 19 to November 8, 2026 – and yes, entry is free.

The timing is rather convenient. While we wait for teamLab’s permanent museum at Gardens by the Bay, which is slated to open in 2028, this limited-time showcase offers an earlier peek at what the collective has in store. Across eight immersive works, expect a world of shifting flowers, crashing waves, waterfalls and prowling tigers, with scenes drawn from nature, mythology and human civilisation.

In true teamLab fashion, don’t expect to simply stand in front of each artwork. Infinite Existence is built around teamLab’s idea of “ultrasubjective space”, inspired by pre-modern East Asian art forms such as narrative scrolls and painted screens. In other words, there’s no single best seat in the house: move around, change your viewpoint, and witness how the artwork changes with you.

The installations are also designed to bleed into one another, creating one enormous, constantly evolving environment, rather than eight isolated digital works. Your position becomes part of the equation, with different scenes overlapping and transforming as you wander through the space.

Some of the works include ‘Darkness Becomes Existence, an Eternal Sea’, where black lines representing darkness drift across a white sea, constantly ebbing and flowing. There’s also ‘Continuous Life and Death at the Now of Eternity II’, in which flowers bloom and wither in real time, responding to the natural light and changing seasons of the space. Meanwhile, ‘Universe of Water Particles – Gold’ transforms hundreds of thousands of digitally simulated particles into a cascading waterfall, drawing on the way pre-modern Japanese paintings used lines to depict the movement and life of water.

The exhibition also uses digital art to poke at bigger questions around nature, civilisation, history and our place within all of it – making the human being in the room just as important as the pixels.
