About this event

Step into the living heritage of Pulau Ubin on the Malay KamPUng Heritage Walk, a descendant-led journey through Singapore's last surviving Malay village. Curated and guided by Syazwan, or Wan, a direct descendant of the Ubin Orang Pulau through his maternal lineage, this 3-hour walk offers a personal connection to the island's Malay community. Covering approximately 5 kilometres, the experience brings together cultural heritage, natural surroundings, and memories passed down through generations.

Walk through Ketuk Batu (Pekan Ubin), Kampung Sungei Durian, and the former Kampung Surau, places that continue to hold deep meaning for the Ubin Orang Pulau. Hear stories tied directly to the landscape as history and personal memory come together along the route. The experience offers an intimate look at the cultural identity of Pulau Ubin's Malay islander community while reconnecting its stories with the places where they unfolded.
