Impact Rave feat. Siangyoo

Manila-based DJ and frontman of Grayscale Social Club Siangyoo is returning for his third Singapore show on Thursday, October 8, following two previous sell-outs – and this time, he’s taking over Zouk on the final night of TOKEN2049 and just before F1 weekend kicks off.

Expect Siangyoo’s signature “wordplay” sets, where vocal snippets, lyrics and sound bites from different tracks are chopped, matched and mashed together into playful, unexpected transitions. His sets are built around hip-hop and R&B, with the Philippines’ fast-rising turntablist bringing his sound to a considerably bigger room this time around.

But there’s more to this one than just another big night out. Presented by 528 Collective and Grayscale Social Club, the event marks the launch of Impact Rave, a new format by Beamco Foundation that puts a fixed percentage of every ticket towards an actual social cause. Impact Rave is designed around the idea that nightlife and social impact don’t have to exist in separate universes, turning nights out and ticket sales into tangible support for people who need it – without taking away from the music, the party, or the experience.

For its first edition, 10 per cent of every ticket sold will go directly towards flash flood relief in Nepal through registered charity partner Beamco Foundation. This will support Wateroam, the Singapore-born social enterprise behind the “Safe Water, Save Lives” mission. The organisation develops portable water filtration systems for communities affected by disasters, and its Roamfilter systems are currently being deployed in Nepal, where flash floods have left tens of thousands of people without reliable access to safe drinking water.
