About this event

The SCO30 celebration series culminates in a magnificent grand finale concert that weaves together the stories, influences, and inspirations that have shaped the orchestra over three decades. The programme looks back to SCO’s beginnings with Overture – Step Up and Up, a commissioned work by Cultural Medallion recipient Phoon Yew Tien, first performed at SCO’s inaugural concert thirty years ago.

The evening builds towards a powerful conclusion with the world premiere by Law Wai Lun, the first written for Chinese orchestra. Through five moments, the work traces Singapore’s extraordinary story, honouring the past while and anticipating a shining future. This final concert is both a reflection of where we have been and a celebration shared with all who have journeyed with us – a fitting way to celebrate our 30th anniversary together.
