About this event

Ekspresi 2026: Citra Langgam is a 90-minute dance production reimagining Singapore's historical Malay kampungs through new traditional creations. Spearheaded by DIAN Dancers, it features Era Dance Theatre, Azpirasi Dance Group, and Atrika Dance Company. Embodying the spirit of gotong royong, performers from all four groups share a single dancer pool as a collective ensemble. Guided by a Penglipur Lara (storyteller), the audience journeys through communal memory across Kampung Lorong Fatimah, Kampung Wak Tanjong, Kampung Changi, and Kampung Bukit Ho Swee. Five traditional Malay music and dance genres alongside silat transform historical realities into dynamic movement, concluding with a united modern collective carrying their cultural memory into a new era.
