About this event
Dance Ensemble Singapore (DES) presents Legacy Mansion 《惜怀。古宅》, a collaborative site-specific dance performance with the House of Tan Yeok Nee, Singapore's only surviving traditional Teochew mansion among the Four Grand Mansions and a National Monument.
Drawing on the mansion's history and exquisite architecture, the work explores themes of diaspora, memory, identity, transformation, and legacy. Through contemporary Chinese dance, theatre, tea culture, and spatial storytelling, the performance treats the mansion not merely as a venue, but as a living archive where architecture, memory, and identity converge.
