About this event

Discover the beauty of Impressionism through the rich and vibrant medium of oil pastels. Rather than focusing on fine details, Impressionism is about capturing light, colour and the feeling of a moment. In this beginner-friendly workshop, you will explore how artists such as Claude Monet and Vincent van Gogh created expressive scenes using loose strokes, layered colours and bold marks. With oil pastels, you can blend colours easily, build soft textures and experiment with movement and atmosphere. Our instructor will guide you through techniques such as colour layering, blending smooth transitions and using short, broken strokes to suggest light and movement. You will work from a selection of reference images and learn how to simplify shapes while focusing on colour, mood and composition. No prior art experience is required. Simply come with curiosity and enjoy experimenting with colour and texture. Reference images will be provided for learning purposes.
Workshop Duration: 2.5 Hours
